Pieter Doevendans
I am an Operations Leader with 12+ years of experience working in and with tech startups, as a founder, advisor, and board member. Iāve had many different roles covering responsibilities such as user research, product development, talent acquisition, sales, and marketing. I'm currently co-founding a company in the hearing health space, and advise other startups from time to time. I especially like helping companies that are newly entering the U.S. market.

Systems for Growth
I am excited to jump in on any part of your developing business that you want to address. I specialize in working with early stage companies that are new to the U.S. Market, and my core experience is with B2C and B2B offerings. I'll be the ideal sounding board for you, while you develop your product, figure out your sales motion, and come up with the right marketing strategies. My focus areas include...

Understanding your customer and finding a product/market fit is not rocket science. It is a matter of asking the right questions using a structured and methodological approach.
One of my preferred ways of doing this is by following the key principles of the LEAN startup methodology, namely by testing your hypothesis without using a lot of valuable resources for the wrong reasons.
I will onboard you and your team on these principles by sharing tools and templates, conducting (and shadowing) interviews, and iterating on the different steps of the development process together. My goal is to shift your teamās mindset and to make these principles part of your companies DNA. This way you will benefit from them at every step of the way (Design, Marketing, Sales, etc).
-
What is your first step to enter the market? How do you make this most effective with the limited resources available? I help you answer these questions, create a strategy, and execute it in the most efficient way.
I see a lot of startups getting caught up in the idea of doing a big product launch, but often times, less is more. I really like the approach Superhuman took for example.

Besides People and Product, Process is the other crucial āPā in your business. Our most valuable resource as a startup (and arguably as a human being) is time. You really shouldnāt be repeating the same tasks over and over again if they can be automated instead.
I love working with startups to optimize their operational systems, creating more clarity, increasing efficiency, and saving valuable time.
If youāre using Notion, check out my templates at the bottom of this page to find some examples of how I geek out on process. Furthermore, in the āAbout meā section there are a few tools I recommend for maximizing personal efficiency. There is a balance in everything, so the amount of process will depend on the nature of your team, your business, and your companies values.

The future is AI and AI is the future. There is no way around it, so rather than pushing back or ignoring it, the best thing to do is to embrace and integrate it into your personal and business practices immediately.
As a business, I can help you understand and pinpoint how AI can accelerate different parts of your business, and what tools are best suited for which processes. Revolutionize your BDR outreach, personalize customer success, or disrupt the social media game.
As an individual, I can show you how I use different AI models and tools on a daily basis, and get you set up with the basics so you can work 10x faster, and stay up to date with the latest in the Gen AI space.
Iām not an AI or ML specialist, but Iām a heavy user of AI, and Iām constantly testing the newest advancements (from AGI to multimodel AI systems like Google Gemini) to stay relevant in the space. -
Fundraising isnāt easy. It requires intense preparation, strong determination, and perfect explanation. As you go through the process, youāll find that your pitch is constantly developing and changing.
I help you strengthen your pitch and increase your success by making sure you check all the boxes for each audience you are addressing (VCās, Angels, Impact investors, Partners, Clients, and more).
And yes, when youāre ready, I can also introduce you to relevant Silicon Valley based funds where thereās fit. In the meantime, keep building and nurturing your investor relationships, they can make or break your next round!
Tip: Ask for advice and youāll get money, ask for money and you will get advice. -
My belief is that people are the engine of your business and therefor the most important asset your company has. This means a few things:
1) Hire only the best people. Donāt hire from a place of extreme urgency or dire need. Take time to understand what you business needs, where to source this person, and how to assess their fit.2) Create systems for success. From employee onboarding, to accountability systems, and career paths, it is crucial that every individual in your organization knows what to do, when to do it, and why? Their success is your success.
3) Nurture a great working culture. Motivation often overcomes experience. To keep their motivation high, it is crucial that your team feels appreciated and recognized for their contributions. Establish and nurture a culture where everyone comes to work more excited every next day.
I will help streamline your hiring process from A-Z, optimize your accountability structures, and provide frameworks and templates, for things like 360 peer reviews and company engagement surveys, to nurture a culture of high performance, and employee happiness.
